Eczema and Psoriasis are just two of the rashes that we manage at CCSD. Combinations of medications and changes in cleansing or health habits are used to help clear your skin. Biologic medications such as Humira, Enbrel, and Stelara can also be used to clear psoriasis and treat psoriatic arthritis in our patients.
Psoriasis is a common skin disorder affecting about 1 in 40 persons. A normal skin cell matures in 28 to 30 days and sheds from the skin. With Psoriasis, skin cells mature in 4 days, and heap up to form silvery scaled lesions.
Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for psoriasis. However, our experienced providers can find the right treatment plan for you to help control your psoriasis flares. Find more information on our psoriasis page!
Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)
Atopic Dermatitis, also called atopic eczema, is an itchy rash which occurs in patients who have genetic lack of natural moisturizing factor (NMF) in the skin. There is no cure for eczema, but it can be controlled by avoiding irritants, keeping the skin moist, and treating flares with cortisone, antihistamines, and replacing the natural moisturizing factor with certain cleansers and creams.
